Faerie-thyme
'A magical place in Wales'
For a very different camping experience, come and camp at Faerie-thyme.
This is not your average camping in a field, this is like wild camping in the back garden!!
New for 2012 are camping pitches with covered firepits. These are proving very popular. You need to book early to make sure of having one of these. We only have four on site at the moment. Each one has fairy lights around the cover, a small firepit with grill so you can cook on it. We have logs and kindling for sale in the new 'honesty shop'. Everything for a real wild camping experience.

Faerie Thyme is a 3 acre smallholding in Crwbin, Carmarthenshire. Once an old goat farm, we have spent the last four years restoring it to what it is today. Its not just a smallholding though, it is a very beautiful magical place which is surrounded by very ancient woodland and scenery. The woodlands are full of unusual herbs and wild flowers, the footpath that surrounds Faerie-thyme was created (we think) around the 17th century. Some of the hazels that grow on the edge of the path could well date back to a laid hedge that would have surrounded the field. The place is full of magic. We named it Faerie-thyme, as we truly believe in the power and blessings of mother nature, the elementals and the faerie realm, and we hope to share that with like minded people.
Our camping area is a large mostly flat grass area surrounded by ancient woodland which nestles at the back of the property a good way from the road. The site has all the basic amenities such as chemical disposal point, water taps, washing up area and recycling bins. We now have six electric hook-ups and the loos and showers are now useable. All the facilities are close to the camping field, and nothing is very far away, this is only a 3acre site!
We now have an 'honesty shop' on site where you can buy logs for your firepits, fresh local eggs, locally made ice-creams and other essentials. There are plenty of good amenities in the next village including a store that sells its own home made bread, and a post office. We are a 15 minute drive from Carmarthen, Wales's oldest market town and the birthplace of Merlin and there is a regular bus service to and from the town, or there is a park and ride scheme on the A40 just west of Carmarthen.
